AGA Member Spotlight: Timberline Williamsburg

Q: Tell us a bit more about why you started a company in the glamping industry.

My husband Ken and I are both in the medical field, he is a pharmacist and I worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant before committing full time to our glamping business. We have two kids, and we love being outdoors as a family, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking are our favorite past times.

I love the outdoors, it brings me peace and joy. It's how I relax and it's what gets me excited. Being in nature is when I most feel like myself it's where I feel closest to God. Glamping is all about bringing people together outside helping them connect with something bigger than themselves.

Q: Tell us a bit about where your glamping business is today? Where do you see your business in the future?

Well, we just started. We have six safari tents at a county campground in a small county in Virginia, and some point I would love to have more and maybe at a local state park.

Q: What are you most excited about within the glamping industry moving forward?

I'm super excited about to see what the future holds for the glamping industry as it gets bigger what are the different niches that will be explored.

Q: Do you have any advice for those that are just starting out?

If you really want it, don't give up. Most people do not fail, they give up. Owning any business takes true grit and you can't give up when it gets tough because it will always get tough.
