AGA Member Spotlight: Bryce Glamp & Camp

The Childs Family has been in construction/real estate for over 30 years. Each member of our family plays a role, from marketing, hospitality to interior design. We have restored historical buldings, and over the years completed many projects.

Q: Tell us a bit more about why you started a company in the glamping industry.

The Childs Family is rooted in Bryce Canyon National Park/Tropic Utah history.

A.J. Hansen, who is the great grandfather of Mark Childs (owner), helped to found the town of Tropic. So, when our family made the decision to establish new roots and escape from the big city, this area called to us! Using the 2020 lockdown as opportunity, we worked tirelessly as a family to build the Bryce Glamp and Camp Resort. Owned and operated by the Childs Family, two more generations are working and living in this beautiful, scenic area.

Q: Tell us a bit about where your glamping business is today? Where do you see your business in the future?

Opened in October 2022, we have provided a luxury glamping experience year round to guests. We have been fully booked nightly since our grand opening. Because of our growth, we are expanding our 30 acre are with 3 more glamping domes to open in spring 2024.

Q: What are you most excited about within the glamping industry moving forward?

Being able to provide our guests an experience they cannot get from any other area.

Q: Do you have any advice for those that are just starting out?

Figure out your "why".
