AGA Member Spotlight: Jupe

Jeff Wilson and Antonio Gonzalez are co-founders of Jupe. Jupe makes all the software, bedrooms and toilets that allow a glamping site to be built and listed in a single day. They have team members from AirBnB, Tesla, WeWork and Apple on their team. Jeff formerly founded a modular housing startup and Antonio opened the US market for a hospitality company and has run several RV and sprinter van businesses.

Q: Tell us a bit more about why you started a company in the glamping industry.
A: We found Jupe to remove all the barriers to building an immersive outdoor experience in an elevated out-of-this-world design. Our units were also designed to be light on the land, leaving with no trace. The future is bringing more of humanity back into deep nature and Jupe aims to do that with ease and comfort.

Q: Tell us a bit about where your glamping business is today? Where do you see your business in the future?
A: Today, Jupe makes turn-key pop up glamping rooms, complete with built-in foundation decking, storage, LED lighting, A/C, a luxury mattress, and all the other FF&E necessary to rent the night the Jupe arrives on site via truck. We also make a portable toilet called The Portal, featured in Dwell. We are currently live at sites across the US and Canada and you can book directly at Jupe.com.
Tomorrow, Jupe will provide an entire glamping hotel, off-gird, including amenities like community rooms, bath houses, zoom rooms for meetings, and even saunas! More on our vision can be found at this video from our site in the Redwoods near San Francisco.
Q: What are you most excited about within the glamping industry moving forward?
A: We are excited about the growth of the industry and the elevation of the overall experience as well as the technology integration of off-grid equipment, enabling a more sustainable and remote experience of deep nature.

Q: Do you have any advice for those that are just starting out?
A: Just get going! Start off by setting up a pilot site. Jupe can help you set up with little to no capital up-front through our Just Add Land program.
