AGA Member Spotlight: Q Hospitality Management

Capitalizing on Quentin’s 30+ years of experience as a sharp, results-driven hotel operations and food + beverage leader, and most recently as a consultant and 3rd party operator to the outdoor hospitality world of Glamping and high-end RV resorts, Quentin and Q Hospitality Management can support the entire lifecycle of your glamping project, from concept and programming to 3rd party operation. Via their hospitality partnerships, they can also support your operation (for aspects not in their wheelhouse) with introductions to law firms, accounting firms, graphic designers, architects, designers, and almost any other partner you may need.

Q: Tell us a bit more about why you started a company in the glamping industry.

A: I actually started Q Hospitality Management to focus on independent hotels (non branded hotels) and over the last 4 years I decided to take everything I had learned in the last 30+ years of working in independent hotels, and apply that style of management, use of technology and attention to detail, to the glamping segment of hospitality. Working with a Glamping + RV client of ours in 2019/2020, the very unique and highly acclaimed Baypoint Landing, gave me additional insight into this side of hospitality and its amazing potential. I also think that our hotel experience brings a different dynamic, style and focus to the consulting and 3rd party management we provide to the glamping industry.

Q: Tell us a bit about where your glamping business is today? Where do you see your business in the future?

A: As with everyone in this industry, QHM is riding the wave of glamping and high-end RV park popularity with 2022 being our most successful year and 2023 holding an immense amount of potential with multiple projects and potential management agreements in discussion.

We are currently working with clients around the country, including a potential RV + Glamping project in eastern WA, a 40 unit luxury cabin glamping project in MA, and as an advisor to Glacier Montana-based RoamBeyond and to Treewalkers, by O2 Treehouses.

Q: What are you most excited about within the glamping industry moving forward?

A: The uniqueness and creativity that I continue to see when it comes to the creation of “glamping units”, like Jupe and Treewalkers by O2Treehouses. Using Jupe for example, they have a very unique “futuristic” sleeping unit and have now come out with an even more unique “bathroom” option. Its great to see people continue to innovate in this space.

Q: Do you have any advice for those that are just starting out?

A: Answer: Research, research, research and acknowledge that there may be aspects where "you don't know what you don't know”. Ask for help, hire the expert for the specific need you have, paying now for an expert could save you thousands of dollars in the end.

A big thank you to Quentin and the team at Q Hospitality Management for being a part of the AGA community- we look forward to seeing what they do next!
