A Collaboration as Unique as the Glampsite Itself: Bushtec Launches Safari Tent Experiences Inside Six Flags Amusement Park

AGA member and luxury tent manufacturer, Bushtec Safari, is propelling the glamping industry forward and expanding access to glamping experiences in previously undiscovered territories–most recently, amusement parks! Inside the 350-acre safari park at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, park goers can now stay overnight at the Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa, in Bushtec Safaris luxury tents!

Q: Can you share a little bit about your company's core values and guiding principles?

A: At Bushtec Safari, we take pride in our product’s longevity. We have safari tents that have been up for 25+ years in Africa. Our military-grade canvas is low maintenance and rot and mildew resistant. We view each project as distinctive, which is why we offer customizable options to craft a unique design experience.

Q: How does your company approach product development and innovation?

A: We are consistently investigating the best products for our customers, which include cost effective and sustainable solutions. In addition to 100% canvas structures, we now offer Bushcad, a light-weight steel structure, and tensile roof structures. Additionally, we provide our customers with a "full-package" option, which includes custom interior partitions and furnishings, should they opt for it.

Q: Could you walk us through your manufacturing process from conception to delivery at Six Flags?

A: The design process always starts off with an introductory video call. During this call, we share our unique capabilities with the customer and the customer shares their expectations and desires with us. From here, we work with our talented designers in South Africa to perfect the customers floorplans and ensure designs are up to code requirements. In the case of Six Flags, our design scope extended beyond just the tents. Six Flags requested a total turn-key solution from us, which involves deck development, interior furnishing design, and installation. Currently, we have a crew on site at Six Flags finishing up the installation and getting the site ready for the public!

Q: What trends or developments do you see shaping the future of the industry?

A: We perceive glamping expanding beyond traditional overnight stays. For instance, at Six Flags we are building an entire tented lodge, which includes a reception area, dining area, and lounge area. We also constructed a luxurious spa center, completely made from canvas. We are finding that more and more customers are inquiring about entertainment tents, for purposes ranging from wellness retreats to wedding receptions.

Q: How do you envision your company evolving and adapting to meet the changing needs of the market?

A: We work with an incredible design team, who work together to turn dreams into reality. Bushtec products are built to last in all climates, and we continue to find innovative ways to stay ahead of the trends. One way is by attending the Glamping Show USA every year.

Q: Is there anything else you would like readers to know about the glamping manufacturers space and/or Bushtec?

A: Bushtec Safari has some really fascinating projects in the pipeline, including development of a private island and more safari parks. We are thrilled to unveil a new era in resort development to the world. A place where guests can completely immerse themselves in nature, without compromising on luxury.
