In December 2024, Ekodome made a stunning debut in one of the world's most iconic locations—Times Square, New York City. Questions below are answered by Asli Halic, Sales & Marketing Director of Ekodome.
Which Ekodome was set up in Times Square and how did you decide which model to choose?
We showcased the Ekodome Cosmos 29ft Original Series Greenhouse model in Times Square. This model was specifically chosen based on the client’s vision and requirements. Its impressive height and spacious interior made it ideal for creating a striking visual impact and providing plenty of room for visitors to immerse themselves in the experience.
Did you have to consider anything special when setting up and building the dome, considering it was in the middle of Times Square?
Absolutely, but it was a true team effort. The marketing agency and the client played an active role in the planning and execution. From coordinating safety guidelines, handling timelines, and managing high-traffic logistics, every aspect was meticulously planned to ensure smooth assembly and compliance with city regulations.

What specifications are different when constructing a “show dome” vs. a dome made for a glampsite?
A “show dome” like the one in Times Square prioritizes visual appeal, quick assembly, and adaptability for short-term use, while a glamping dome focuses on insulation, comfort, and long-term durability.
If you could do this again, what would you do differently?
Honestly, we did everything we could within the constraints. There are guidelines, restrictions, and numerous decision-makers involved in such a high-profile event. Additionally, this event came to us on very short notice. In just 10-15 days, we manufactured the dome, shipped it to NYC via air cargo, and completed the installation—all while taking extra production shifts and covering significant air freight costs. With limited time, we maximized our capabilities to make this event a success.
More plans to create domes for events or will you stick to glamping? What can we expect to see next from Ekodome?
Both! Events like this prove that Ekodomes are versatile and impactful for unique experiences. We’re also expanding into architectural solutions, and commercial projects. Our goal is to continue creating innovative, flexible, and beautiful structures for diverse applications.
