I have been very surprised by the rapid growth of the industry since the pandemic. As a result we have added significant resources to growing our presence in this industry.
Q: If you could spend a week at any glamping site in the world, where would it be and why?
My bucket list is to see all National Parks. My favorite 2 national parks to date are Yosemite National Park and the Grand Canyon. We have seen many and have many remaining to see to achieve my goal.
Q: What’s your vision for the future of your company within the glamping industry?
I believe our company will continue to grow at a manageable rate as we have in the past. The key is to have a trained staff to be responsive to needs of potential clients who reach out to us on a regular basis.
Q: What’s the most memorable experience you’ve had with a client or partner?
I have become a friend of one of my clients who I have worked with since 2019 who is finally about to receive funding for a $10M USDA loan. The pandemic brought his project to a halt and significantly increased his construction costs. We both own RV's and camped together last year for a week and plan to camp at his new park when it opens later this summer.
Q: How has being a part of the glamping industry impacted you personally?
I graduated with a BS in Recreation and Parks when I was 22 years old. Fifty years later, I am the owner of an Airstream and spend 1-2 months a year traveling the country. My plan is to remain active in the industry for the rest of my working life and I have no plans to retire.
