Meet our Panelists for This Year’s Glamping Investment Connection

We started the Glamping Investment Connection, to connect everyone in this unique stage of development with investors who are active with the industry. Operators face unique challenges in launching their businesses - such as permitting, finding off-grid solutions, and legal classifications - which can be confusing and add a level of complexity to operators and capital providers who are newer to the industry and are more familiar with other traditional hospitality ventures.

Without further ado, meet our panelists!

Steve Nunez

Steve is a Principal at Whitman Peterson. Prior to joining the team, Steven spent over five years at Barings Real Estate Advisers where he worked alongside senior management in the acquisition of new investments in the Western U.S. During his time at Barings, he was involved in the acquisition, underwriting, due diligence, and closing of over $2.0 billion in new investments. Prior to Barings, Steven was an analyst at Center Square Investment Management where he worked in acquisitions and was involved in the oversight of a $430 million portfolio. Steven earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and has a B.S. in Public Policy, Management, and Planning from the University of Southern California where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Shawn Bertini

My journey from startup to super-global-mega-corp taught me a great many things about what is needed to succeed at every level of business. Now I am fortunate enough to be able to take that experience back to others as part of Four Points Funding, an angel syndicate based out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

We are bringing capital and mentorship to early stage businesses. In the process, we expect not just to make money, but also to improve the lives of many across Colorado, in particular on the western slope and in the mountain towns we love. The chance to help people create jobs and grow their dreams is privilege for which I am truly grateful.

Robert Frisch

Bobby is the co-founder and CEO of Firelight Camps, an experiential hospitality company that develops and manages luxury camping resorts. Prior to Firelight Camps, Bobby and his wife Emma opened, managed, and sold a boutique hostel and restaurant in Nicaragua called "La Buena Onda." He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA '13 from the Johnson School at Cornell University, where he was a Roy Park Leadership Fellow and ran Cornell's startup incubator as an ELAB fellow. Robert was a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua, and has provided hospitality consulting services for the National Parks Service, Itza Lodge in Belize, and the luxury tent rental company, Contentment Camping. He lives in Ithaca, NY with his wife Emma and daughters Ayla and Cora.
