Unveiling the Magic: A Behind-the-Scenes SkyBubbles Factory Tour

It was at the Glamping Show Americas 2023 where I first met Natalie, Business Development Manager for the USA, from Skybubbles. We were fast friends, and she invited me to visit the Skybubbles factory located in Barcelona, Spain!

Skybubbles is a brand/type of accommodation that I hadn’t seen before–think crystal ball meets inflatable jump house. I couldn’t wait to see and understand the behind-the-scenes work. They offered an in-detail look at each process involved in manufacturing this one-of-a-kind structure, and I left with a firsthand understanding of the importance of supply chain management, and how each step of the process contributes to the end result. Read on to learn more!

By chance, Natalie and I both live in Barcelona, so getting to the Skybubbles factory was a simple hop, skip, and a jump. I was greeted by Natalie, Quim (Associate & CEO-CMO for Skybubbles) and welcomed in by their onsite team. It was a cloudy day, but the Skybubble I got to see was no less impressive. It inflates in about 5 minutes, and is completely silent. I couldn’t believe stepping inside, looking at the same cloudy day but from the safety of a warm and cozy bubble.

Skybubbles brings nature and comfort together. Their precision in every detail is thoroughly and thoughtfully crafted, and their commitment to this product is inspiring. Every Skybubble is produced onsite and inspected by hand by their team. I got to see the rolls of fabrics, colors, and materials available to fully customize each accommodation, and all of the intricate machines used to measure, sew, cut, mend, etc, to bring these structures to life!

Maintaining product integrity is essential for building and preserving customer trust, fostering brand loyalty, and ensuring long-term success in the marketplace. I saw that Skybubbles invests in quality control processes, testing, certifications, and ongoing monitoring to uphold product integrity standards. They even include a “first-aid” kit for your current bubble, should there be any issues while they send a repaired bubble. I was very impressed!

There is also a smaller bubble placed inside their office at the factory that provides the perfect place for meetings. It was fun to see that the brainstorming, innovation, and future planning for Skybubbles all takes place from within their actual product!

With endless options for color, material, and fabrics allows customers a customizable design, without compromising comfort level. Living an immersive experience with the natural environment is a possibility with their bubbles, and placement is important. The customer’s need for privacy and the considerations of preserving the natural environment will impact how the Skybubble is configured at the glampsite. Considering the environment in an empathetic way allows us to experience nature and our surroundings in a new way.

Thank you to Natalie, Quim, and the Skybubbles team for sharing about the efficiencies and innovations at their factory in Barcelona, Spain. To witness it in person and learn more about Skybubbles’ production methods was very special!
